  • To investigate the functional and imaging changes associated with PUUO in a rat model.

  • Development of mild and severe PUUO models in young and newborn rats by ureteral embedding.
  • Utilizing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to assess renal blood flow and relative signal intensity (RSI) changes.
  • Employing gadolinium-diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (Gd-DTPA) contrast agent for dynamic MRI studies.

Main Results:

  • Both mild and severe PUUO in rats caused a time-dependent decrease in renal blood flow.

  • Further research is needed to fully elucidate the long-term consequences of PUUO on kidney function.
