    Summary

    This study found that male patients with spinal cord injuries have a lower average urine flow rate than normal adults. Normal urinary sensation in spinal cord injury patients suggests a better prognosis.

    Background:

    • Spinal cord injuries can significantly impact bladder function and urine flow.
    • Understanding factors influencing voiding efficiency is crucial for managing neurogenic bladder.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the average urine flow rate in male patients with spinal cord injuries.
    • To correlate flow rate with injury characteristics and sensory function.
    • To assess the potential for bladder deterioration based on sensory feedback.

    • A simplified method using a urine cup and stopwatch was employed.
    • Urine flow rates were measured in 60 male patients with spinal cord injuries.
