Summary

The peppering injection technique for lateral epicondylitis showed excellent results for both lidocaine and lidocaine with triamcinolone groups. This method appears reliable for treating tennis elbow, regardless of corticosteroid use.

Background:

  • Lateral epicondylitis, commonly known as tennis elbow, is a prevalent condition causing elbow pain.
  • Various treatment modalities exist, including injections, but their long-term efficacy can vary.
  • The peppering technique is an injection method involving multiple small injections into the affected area.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare the efficacy of lidocaine alone versus lidocaine with triamcinolone using the peppering technique for lateral epicondylitis.
  • To evaluate the long-term outcomes of this injection method in patients with tennis elbow.

Main Methods:

  • A prospective randomized study involving 120 patients diagnosed with lateral epicondylitis.
  • Patients were divided into two groups: Group A (n=60) received 2 mL lidocaine, and Group B (n=60) received 1 mL lidocaine with 1 mL triamcinolone.
