Summary

Histologic analysis of explanted osteo-odontokeratoprosthesis (OOKP) laminae revealed tissue transformation and resorption. Inflammation and epithelial downgrowth were noted in some cases, highlighting the importance of the alveolar-dental ligament for OOKP integrity.
