Background:

Type-A aortic dissection (TADB) involving the aortic arch presents complex surgical challenges.

The port of entry for TADB is often located at the horizontal portion of the aortic arch.
Surgical replacement of the aortic arch in emergency settings is difficult.

Findings:

A novel approach involves stenting the aortic arch to facilitate subsequent ascending aorta prosthesis replacement.
This strategy simplifies the surgical procedure for TADB involving the aortic arch.

Implications:

This technique may reduce the complexity and risks associated with emergency aortic arch repair.
