Background:

  • Angioleiomyomas are typically benign tumors originating from smooth muscle and vascular tissue, commonly found in the extremities.

Observation:

  • A 64-year-old male presented with an incidentally discovered, well-circumscribed mass in the right anterior mediastinum.
  • Computed tomographic (CT) scan demonstrated a tumor approximately 2 cm in diameter.

Findings:

  • The mediastinal mass was surgically excised via midline sternotomy.
  • Histopathological examination confirmed a highly vascular mesenchymal tumor, consistent with angioleiomyoma.
  • No evidence of cellular dysplasia or mitotic activity was observed, indicating benignancy.
