Summary

A rare conjoined muscle anomaly of the palmaris longus and flexor carpi ulnaris was identified. This finding challenges the necessity of surgery for benign, asymptomatic forearm muscle anomalies detected via advanced imaging.

Background:

Forearm muscle anomalies are uncommon and can present diagnostic challenges.
Previous literature suggests surgical intervention for suspected muscle anomalies based on clinical presentation.
The palmaris longus and flexor carpi ulnaris are superficial forearm muscles with distinct anatomical roles.

Observation:

A unique case of a conjoined palmaris longus and flexor carpi ulnaris muscle was observed.
This specific muscular conjoining has not been previously documented in anatomical literature.
The anomaly was identified using advanced imaging techniques.

Findings:

The study describes a previously unreported anatomical variation: a conjoined palmaris longus and flexor carpi ulnaris muscle.
The observed anomaly was asymptomatic and clinically benign.
Improved imaging modalities facilitate the detection of such variations.

Implications:
