Myocardial infarction and oral contraceptives
Abstract:
The study presented investigated 448 cases of myocardial infarction and 1728 controls to determine possible relationships between oral contraceptives and AMI. The study found that the use of any type of low-dose oral contraceptive does not appear to increase AMI risk. Health-care practitioners are in a good position to collect research data using lay language.
