Abstract:
This case study examines the legal issues surrounding consent, including determining when consent is valid, the doctrine of necessity, doing what is in the best interest of the patient and withdrawing and withholding treatment. The implications of The Human Rights Act on withdrawing or withholding treatment are discussed.
