Abstract
Background:
The possibility of a patient ingesting or aspirating foreign bodies exists in dentistry. Measures are available to minimize this risks.
Case Description:
The authors present a report of a case of a tooth that was swallowed following extraction. Use of preventive techniques could have reduced the risk of this occurrence.
Clinical Implications:
Having a plan of action for such events is stressed. Preventive measures are reviewed.
