Abstract:
Technical progress in cardiovascular surgery and anesthesia allows operations on patients whom age is older and who have more comorbidities. Operative mortality is dependent on operative indications. It is acceptable when one considers the seriousness of spontaneous evolution. Cerebral and spinal cord complications should be minimized by technical improvements.
