    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the outcomes of reconstructive arterial surgery in a series of 547 patients.
    • To assess the long-term efficacy and safety of open thrombendarterectomy and femoro-popliteal vein bypass procedures.

    • Retrospective analysis of 547 patients (678 extremities) undergoing reconstructive arterial surgery.
    • Minimum follow-up period of 2 years for all patients.
    • Detailed recording of surgical procedures, postoperative mortality, and graft patency rates.

    • Open thrombendarterectomy (244 patients) had a 10/244 postoperative mortality and 55% patency at 76 months.

    Conclusions:

    • Reconstructive arterial surgery outcomes align with previously reported larger series.
    • Associated diseases pose a significant risk factor for mortality in patients undergoing these procedures.
    • Both open thrombendarterectomy and femoro-popliteal vein bypass demonstrate comparable long-term patency rates.
