Summary

Tuberculosis (TB) incidence in Cologne is linked to immigrant populations, particularly for those under 60. However, socioeconomic deprivation among specific ethnic groups, rather than immigration itself, appears to be the key driver. The elderly show a separate TB pattern potentially linked to past epidemics.
