Background:

Dental examinations are crucial for patient diagnosis.
Gingival bleeding can be a symptom of underlying systemic conditions.

Observation:

A patient presented with gingival bleeding initially diagnosed as a periodontal issue.
Standard periodontal therapy did not resolve the bleeding symptom.

Findings:

Further hematological investigation revealed acute myeloblastic leukemia.
This life-threatening condition was initially masked by periodontal symptoms.

Implications:

Dentists must recognize unusual clinical signs indicative of systemic diseases.
Early detection of systemic diseases through dental observation can improve patient outcomes.
