Summary

Combining cyclophotocoagulation and tube-shunt implants effectively lowers intraocular pressure and medication needs in refractory glaucoma. Further research is needed to confirm the safety of this combined approach.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the outcomes of combining cyclophotocoagulation with tube-shunt glaucoma drainage implants.
  • To assess the efficacy in controlling intraocular pressure in refractory glaucomas.

  • Retrospective review of 9 patients (10 eyes) treated between 1996 and 2000.
  • Collected data on intraocular pressure, medication use, vision, and complications.
