Abstract:
Pre-anaesthetic assessment of the patients is an integral part of anesthesia & surgery. In assessing the present condition and to determine the prognosis of the outcome of the patients after surgery in relation to anesthesia, different grading and scoring systems have been used. Grading & scoring for physical status, cardiac index, dyspnoea, liver function, hepatic coma, lung function, multiple injury etc. are very much useful and used for particular system involved. ASA grading covers the general physical condition used for all patients. So it is accepted widely around the world as well as all most all hospitals in Bangladesh.
