Self-concept and participation in children's gymnastics

20 third grade children participating in a community athletic program of gymnastics were not significantly different on either academic or movement related self-concept measures from 15 children who did not participate in an athletic program. Academic and movement self-concepts were related but were more situationally specific than general.
