Background:

  • Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is increasingly implicated in the pathogenesis of human lymphoproliferative disorders.
  • Clonal expansions of B lymphocytes are prevalent in HCV-infected patients, particularly in organs targeted by the virus.
  • Epidemiologic studies link HCV infection to an elevated risk of B-cell lymphoma development.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the role of HCV in B-cell lymphoproliferation and lymphoma development.
  • To analyze the B-cell receptor (BCR) gene repertoire in HCV-associated lymphomas.
  • To explore potential pathogenetic mechanisms and therapeutic targets in HCV-driven B-cell malignancies.

  • Analysis of B-cell receptor variable region sequences in sequential phases of HCV-associated lymphomas.
  • Identification and comparison of V, D, J gene usage in B-cell receptor assembly.
