Background:

Compact discs (CDs) are primarily known for digital data storage.
DNA microarrays are crucial for genomic analysis but require specialized platforms.
Autofluorescence of CD materials can interfere with sensitive detection methods.

Purpose of the Study:

To develop a novel platform for DNA microarray construction and analysis using repurposed compact discs.
To integrate numeric data storage and genomic analysis on a single CD.
To overcome detection challenges posed by CD material autofluorescence.

CDs were modified into two functional areas: an external ring for DNA microarrays and an inner portion for numeric data storage.
