Background:

  • Multiple Evanescent White Dot Syndrome (MEWDS) is an idiopathic inflammatory condition affecting the outer retina.
  • Its early electrophysiological changes are not fully understood.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the electrophysiological findings using multifocal electroretinography (mf-ERG) in patients with MEWDS.
  • To correlate mf-ERG results with the disease course.

Main Methods:

  • mf-ERG was performed on four MEWDS patients, analyzing N1- and P1-wave amplitudes and P1 latencies of first-order kernels.
  • Responses were compared to 20 age-matched controls.
  • Fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography were also conducted.
