[Studies on chemical constituents of Euphorbia ebracteolata Ilayata]
Objective:
To search for the effective anti-epilepsiy components from the Chinese folk drug Langdu, the root of Euphorbia ebracteolata.
Method:
Chromatography and spectroscopic analysis were used to isolate and elucidate the chemical constituents in the plant.
Result:
Four compounds, namely 10-nonacosanol, 24-methylenecycloartanol, stigmasterol and dacosterol have been isolated from the precipitate of the plant's methanol extract.
Conclusion:
10-nonacosarnol and 24-methylenecycloartanol were obtained from the root of E. ebracteolate for the first time.

Structure and Nomenclature of Ethers
Ethers are organic compounds with an ether functional group which is characterized by an oxygen atom connected to two — identical or different — alkyl, aryl, or vinyl groups. The C–O–C linkage in dimethyl ether — the simplest ether — has an approximately tetrahedral bond angle of 110.3 degrees. The oxygen atom is sp3- hybridized, with the C–O distance being about 140 pm.
