[Differential diagnosis of essential obesity and Cushing's syndrome]

In short a critical attitude is adopted concerning the problem Cushing's syndrome, resulting from the publication of Kubel and Schwerdtner [this journal 30, 282 (1975)]. The differentiation between Cushing's syndrome and adiposity is in the first place. Apart from this a basic programme is cited and the value of time-saving tests for the patient is emphasized (daily profile of cortisol, overnight test).
