Abstract:
Sonography is frequently used as the first-line technology to evaluate patients with acute abdominal disorders as well as for the exploration of abnormalities of superficial structures. However, gas often interferes with sonographic examination. This illustrated article describes the spectrum of sonographic appearances of various abnormal location of gas collections as a key for definite diagnosis.
