[Mental disorders of women from a psychotherapeutic viewpoint]
On the basis of experience in the consulting-room of the psychiatrist's practice the author has attempted to show how in frank discussions hurtful privations of women patients become comprehensible when considered in the light of their life-histories. Psychic disorders of women may be investigated on the level of their own experience. The insecure longing for individual recognition and esteem in the emotional sphere appears to be particularly important. In these conversations the patient is helped towards self-understanding and real independence.
