Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to outline the impact of culture in relation to breastfeeding promotion--culture as a pervading worldview and culture as a geographical trend. It is hoped that the information provided will enable health professionals to move toward using culture as a facilitator rather than an inhibitor of breastfeeding promotion.
