Abstract:
Edwina Perkins was a student nurse in South Wales between 1937 and 1941. This article reviews her nursing notebooks, their context and relation to current practice. The notebooks are examined with regard to their historical contribution, enhancing insights into nursing past and present, and, from a more personal perspective, Edwina's life as a nurse and the process of discovering more about her.
