[A special brain tumor in the early babyhood (author's transl)]

A case of "mixed glioma" in early infancy is reported with characteristic histology and extension causing elevated cerebro spinal pressure. Incidence and problematic nature of these brain tumors are discussed briefly. Possibly a tumor inducing irritation in utero stimulates embryonic pluripotent cells of glia to proliferate, which differentiate during further life to form various tumor cells. In this way they produce the picture of a "mixed glioma". The term "congenital tumors of the brain" is examined critically.
