Abstract:
A unilateral, free, vesico-ureteric reflux was surgically created in six piglets. Three to four months later, glomerular and tubular function had decreased by about 50 per cent. The reflux also caused a reduction in the kidney's capacity to maintain a steady blood supply when the intravesical pressure was elevated.
