Background:

Biliary-enteric transanastomotic stenting is valuable for complex surgical scenarios.
It is particularly useful when dealing with adverse local conditions or small bile ducts.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the efficacy of a novel stenting technique for biliary-enteric anastomoses.
To assess the utility of a modified feeding jejunostomy kit for this purpose.

Main Methods:

A commercially available feeding jejunostomy kit (Intestofix) was utilized.
The kit was inserted transjejunally through the blind loop of a Roux-en-Y hepatico-jejunostomy.

Main Results:

The stent successfully splinted the hepatico-jejunostomy anastomosis.

This intervention demonstrated a reduction in biliary leaks post-surgery.

Conclusions:

Transanastomotic stenting with this method can effectively reduce biliary leaks.
This technique may serve as a preventive measure against subsequent stricture formation in the anastomosis.
