Summary

Topical anesthesia is a viable alternative to retrobulbar anesthesia for penetrating trabeculectomy, offering similar efficacy and patient-reported pain. This minimally invasive approach demonstrates clinical feasibility for glaucoma surgery.

  • Intraoperative pain was assessed using a 10-point rating scale post-surgery.
