Summary

Younger age and levodopa responsiveness predict successful deep brain stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus (STN-DBS) in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients with severe motor issues. Symptoms improving with levodopa medication are most likely to benefit from STN-DBS.
