[Infant mortality according to the duration of gestation]

By studying the statistics given in the civil register, mortality tables of infants dying under the age of one year have been compared with the duration of the pregnancy (7 months, 8 months, 9 months). These tables show the probability of death day by day in the first week, week by week in the first month and monthly in the first year. They show the influence of the length of gestation on mortality. Furthermore the probability of the death of a foetus of more than 6 months gestation has been calculated.
