[Electron microscopic screening of plastics and rubbers used for implantation(author's transl)]

Results are reported of electron microscopic screening tests investigating the biostability of plastics and rubbers used as implantation material. The layers which generally appear on the surface of the inlay are described and their significance in the demarcation of the organism against the foreign body is discussed.
