Immunologic mechanisms in hepatitis B assayed by antigen-binding lymphocytes.

Summary

Investigating hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, this study found that high counts of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBS Ag) binding lymphocytes (ABL) correlate with anti-HBS presence, not anti-HBC or HBS Ag. Low ABL counts suggest partial tolerance in carriers.
