Summary

Nasal catheterization can lead to bacterial sinusitis in rabbits, with risks increasing with catheter duration and thickness. This study establishes a rabbit model to investigate sinusitis development.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To develop an experimental rabbit model for studying nasal catheterization effects.
  • To investigate the impact of nasal catheterization on rhinosinus mucosa and bacterial flora.

  • Healthy adult rabbits were randomly assigned to two groups, catheterized with 12 French or 8 French catheters.
