Le Fort I osteotomy in cleft patients causes upper lip thinning, especially in unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP) and bilateral cleft lip and palate (BCLP) cases. Soft tissue thickness varies significantly between isolated cleft palate (CP), BCLP, and UCLP.
