Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To prospectively compare the short-term efficacy of regular (National-N, Hoover-H) and specialized (Vorwerk-V) vacuum cleaners in removing mite allergens from mattresses.
  • To evaluate the impact of vacuuming on residual mite allergen levels.

Main Methods:

  • Thirty-five dormitory mattresses with high initial mite allergen levels were selected and divided into three groups.
  • Vacuuming was performed using assigned cleaners (N, H, V) at months 1 and 4.
