[An acute toxicity study with three yeast protein sources in beagle dogs]

Two yeast proteins produced on oil substrate were found safe and nutritious in growing beagle dogs. Reducing nucleic acids with ammonium hydroxide resulted in renal damage; potassium hydroxide reduced nucleic acids with no ill effects. Changes in processing methods must be adequately monitored.
