[Chronic fatigue: introduction]

Chronic fatigue is frequent in primary care practice. After exclusion of medical causes, psychosocial factors and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) must be searched. The differential diagnosis is long and difficult, but it depends more of good clinical evaluation than of extensive laboratory investigation.
