- Analyzed SCE frequency in peripheral blood lymphocytes from 13 generalized aggressive periodontitis (G-AP) patients, 10 chronic periodontitis (CP) patients, and 10 controls.
- Recorded periodontal parameters including probing depth, clinical attachment level, bleeding on probing, and plaque.
- Cultured lymphocytes with 5-Bromo-2-deoxyuridine for 72 hours in darkness and scored SCE in 20 metaphases per donor.

- The mean SCE frequencies were 6.7 ± 0.9 per cell in G-AP, 6.5 ± 1.5 in CP, and 6.9 ± 1.1 in controls.

- Cytogenetic damage, as measured by SCE, is not elevated in aggressive periodontitis compared to chronic periodontitis or controls.
