Abstract:
In the October issue of Molecular Cell, Kumar et al. demonstrate that the C-terminal binding protein (CtBP) is an NAD-dependent dehydrogenase that links enzymatic activity to protein-protein contacts associated with transcriptional repression, and implicates a broader involvement of enzymes and NAD in the regulation of gene expression.
