Summary

This study found excellent agreement between the Observer Alexithymia Scale and the modified Beth Israel Hospital Psychosomatic Questionnaire (BIQ) for assessing alexithymia. Both observer-rated measures demonstrated strong reliability and confirmed theoretical structures, making them suitable for research.
