Adoption--2: Living as an adoptive family
The Journal of Family Health Care
|November 27, 2002
Abstract:
In the second of three articles, Patricia Swanton outlines the support adoptive parents may need from the primary health care team once the adoption order has been made. She discusses some possible difficulties in communication and behaviour and emphasises the value of peer support for parents. Putting parents in touch with post-adoption centres or the organisation Adoption UK gives them access to post-adoption literature and support and contact with other adoptive parents.
