Ichthyosiform mycosis fungoides.

Summary

Ichthyosiform mycosis fungoides (MF), a rare skin condition, can mimic other ichthyoses. This report details two cases of MF presenting with ichthyosis, achieving remission with conservative treatments.

Background:

Malignancy-associated acquired ichthyosis is a recognized condition.
The ichthyosiform presentation of mycosis fungoides (MF) is infrequently documented in medical literature.

Observation:

Two patients presented with clinical symptoms suggestive of ichthyosis.
Histological examination confirmed the diagnosis of mycosis fungoides in both individuals.

Findings:

Both patients achieved long-term remission of their ichthyosiform MF.
Treatment involved non-aggressive therapeutic approaches.

Implications:

This rare ichthyosiform subset of mycosis fungoides should be considered in differential diagnoses.
It represents a newly described form of MF characterized by epidermal hyperplasia, alongside conditions like keratosis lichenoides chronica-like MF and pilotropic MF.
