Summary

Abacavir hypersensitivity reaction (HSR) occurs in less than 5% of patients and requires careful evaluation. Early diagnosis and patient education are crucial to prevent severe reactions when using this HIV medication.

Abacavir sulfate is a nucleoside reverse-transcriptase inhibitor for HIV treatment.
