Ovarian pregnancy with delivery of a live baby

A case of a primary ovarian pregnancy culminating in abdominal delivery of a live baby is presented. The absolute necessity of endometrial tissue for development of the fertilized ovum is discussed. Although in advanced ovarian pregnancy there is no profound difference from normal intrauterine gestation, it may mask the presence of an abruptio placentae.
