Summary

Adjuvant radiotherapy plus chemotherapy after bladder conservation surgery significantly reduces pelvic recurrence in muscle invasive bladder cancer patients. This combination therapy is a viable option for preventing cancer recurrence post-surgery.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy of adjuvant radiation and chemotherapy in preventing recurrence after BCS for MIBC.
  • To compare recurrence rates between patients receiving adjuvant therapy and those not.

  • A study group of 23 MIBC patients received radiotherapy with mitomycin infusion post-BCS.
  • A control group of 29 MIBC patients received only mitomycin infusion post-BCS.
