[Comparative analysis of results of two techniques of ablation for typical atrial flutter]
Aim:
To compare efficacy of two techniques of ablation for typical atrial flutter: 'old' which end point was impossibility of arrhythmia reinduction and 'novel' aimed at change of sequence of right atrial excitation during coronary sinus ostium pacing for verification of isthmus block after ablation of the inferior vena cava-tricuspid valve isthmus.
Method:
Retrospective analysis of results of 122 procedures of catheter ablation for common atrial flutter.
Results:
Efficacy of both methods was similar but the use of the 'novel' technique was associated with shorter overall duration of a procedure and fluoroscopy time, lesser number of applications required for successful ablation, and lower rates of induction of atrial fibrillation and of atrial flutter recurrences.
