Background:

Mesenteric lipoblastoma is a rare pediatric tumor.
Accurate diagnosis and surgical planning are critical for favorable outcomes.

Observation:

A 16-month-old girl presented with a rare mesenteric lipoblastoma.
Ultrasound (US), computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were utilized.
MRI provided superior visualization of the tumor's fat components and anatomical extent.

Findings:

The imaging features were correlated with histopathological findings.
MRI demonstrated the tumor's characteristics and extent more clearly than US or CT.
Multiplanar MR imaging facilitated precise surgical planning.
