Abstract:
A review of our knowledge of causes and consequences of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) on hemostatic functions and clinical manifestations is given, based on experiences in a children's hospital in collaboration with a central laboratory for blood coagulation. The problems of early diagnosis, starting and guidance of therapy are especially stressed.
